Fort Valley Fire DepartmentThe Fort Valley Fire Department was created as an all-volunteer force and is now staffed by 13 full-time professionals and 13 volunteers. Operating from two stations, the department is responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention, fire prevention education and disaster preparedness.

Each of these areas encompasses various programs and services that are designed to enhance our ability to serve our customers -- the residents of Fort Valley.

It is the Fort Valley Fire Department's philosophy that prevention is the key to reducing the fire loss of our city.

We are continuously working to improve the quality of the services we provide by aggressively training in all areas of our expertise. Our MS continuing education programs provide regular training that meets or exceeds requirements prescribed by state and federal regulations. Our staff is always looking for new technology or training that may be used by our front line personnel to reduce loss of life and property in our city.

In addition to handling emergencies, the FVFD also offers a number of services to the community including, residential smoke detector battery changes, home and business fire inspections, fire safety training classes and CPR training.
